One of our most memorable family vacations was a trip to the Virginia Safari Park. Driving through 180 acres of wildlife while animals wandered right up to our car was an adventure we'll never forget! We saw antelopes, bison, elk, and wildebeest up close! (Isn't "wildebeest" just a wonderfully funny word? It literally means "wild beast" in Dutch!) At one point, a huge bison stuck his entire head through our vehicle window looking for treats. Not many people can say they've cleaned up bison slobber before! π
