Write

✏️
Invent a brand-new word! Decide what it means, how it's pronounced, and when people would use it. Then write a short dictionary entry that includes its definition, part of speech, and a sentence showing your new word in action.

Need ideas?

Think about something that doesn’t have the perfect word yet. Maybe it’s the feeling of finding money in a coat pocket, sunlight sparkling on water, or the excitement before opening a favorite book. Could your word describe an emotion, an object, an action, or something completely unexpected? The best new words solve a problem—or simply make people smile!

I have a soft spot for words that feel a little magical… ethereal, serendipity, whimsical, and glimmer are a few favorites. Do proper nouns count? If so, Camelot might sneak onto the list too. It instantly makes me think of legends, castles, and stories waiting to be told. ✨
