✨ From Prompt to Pint: Meet Marshmelon Ice Cream

Some stories are too sweet not to share.
This summertime treat was inspired by Luna, the watermelon-obsessed caterpillar from our Journaling in July adventures (and her snack-happy sidekick, Claude the Crab, who has a serious thing for marshmallows). Together? They sparked a flavor combo so silly it just had to be real.
Introducing… Marshmelon Ice Cream!
A little watermelon. A little marshmallow. A lot of imagination.
📝 It All Started with a Writing Prompt
One of our journalers (ahem… maybe someone in our house) decided that checking off just one row of our printable imagination bingo board wasn’t enough.
Nope… we were going to complete the whole thing.
And when the prompt said:
“Invent a new ice cream flavor!”
…we didn’t stop at inventing.
✨ We mixed up a recipe, grabbed our Creami, and turned imagination into action.
Because that’s what storytelling is all about… dreaming up ideas so vivid, they practically leap off the page.

🍦 The Official Marshmelon Recipe
Want to make your own scoop-worthy story? Here’s how we brought Marshmelon to life, with a little help from our Ninja Creami Deluxe!
Yield: 1 pint
Hands-On Time: ~10 minutes
Freeze Time: 24 hours
Spin Time: 5 minutes or less
✏️ Ingredients for One Imaginative Pint:
- 1 tablespoon softened cream cheese
- 3 tablespoons sugar (or your favorite sweetener)
- ¾ cup whole milk
- ¼ cup heavy cream
- ½ cup cold seedless watermelon chunks
- 2 tablespoons freeze-dried mini vanilla marshmallows
(We used an all-natural brand with no artificial dyes—Claude the Crab would approve.)
🛠️ The Writing-to-Whisk Method:
1. Whisk Up a Dreamy Base
In a small bowl, stir the cream cheese until smooth. Add sugar, milk, and cream, then whisk until your mixture is silky and well blended.
2. Freeze for the Magic to Begin
Pour your base into a Ninja Creami pint container and freeze it flat for a full 24 hours.
3. Spin It Like You Mean It
When frozen solid, take it out and run it through your Ninja Creami’s Ice Cream cycle.
4. Add in the Story
Dig a small well into the center and drop in those sweet watermelon chunks and marshmallow bits. Use the Mix-In setting to blend them into your scoopable story.
5. Scoop, Smile, and Serve
Top with extra marshmallows (optional, but highly recommended by Claude), and enjoy the coolest ending to your creative writing prompt.
